About

Hi guys!

My name is Margarita Levina and I’m an artist and children’s illustrator.

I was born in Mariupol (Ukraine), but now I’m living in Haifa (Israel) with my husband and little son.

Fine art

My journey with painting began just last year, but from the moment I picked up a brush, I couldn’t stop. It was an experience that filled me with so much inspiration and happiness that painting has instantly become an essential part of my life.

For me, art is more than just a work; it is my way of navigating life’s challenges. Having experienced emigration and the impact of war in both Ukraine and Israel, painting has been my refuge, my strength, and my way of processing the world around me. Every brushstroke is a reflection of resilience, hope, and the deep connection I feel with nature.

Through my work, I hope to share this sense of peace, calmness and beauty with others, inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and lose themselves in the landscapes I create.

I also like to draw cute and funny illustrations with interesting stories. I believe in the power of imagination and the joy that books can bring to young minds. That’s why I chose children’s illustration as one of my paths. And it’s also my great passion – I have a collection of beautiful children’s books from all over the world, and keeping it up regularly.

I pay meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that each illustration tells a story of its own and adds depth to the overall narrative.

At the beginning of my career I worked as a designer at the printing house for a couple of years. So now I don’t have any troubles with technical issues of preparing my illustration for further printing.

Since that I had 7 years of experience in illustration.

  • I worked as a freelance illustrator for such companies as: Little Steps Publishing, Phoenix Publishing House, UNICONF, Windy Press, HGM Group etc.
  • The first book I’ve illustrated is Polly Profiterole’s Little Town by Maggie May Gordon (published by Little Steps in 2019).
  • I participated in the International Festival of Book Illustration in Moscow. Some of my illustrations were exhibited there in 2019.
  • I am also a founder of the local community of the artists in Haifa – SKETCHIM.

If you have an interesting project – feel free to contact me to discuss it and see how we can collaborate. And if you want to say “hi” , don’t hesitate either!)

Good luck and have a nice day!
